You might know me as your current Sandy City Councilwoman, but I got my start in community issues as the founder of the Keep Dimple Dell Wild movement. I am a longtime Sandy resident, community advocate, business owner, and former Sandy City prosecutor. I am running because I want to help make Sandy stronger, by fighting for balanced growth, supporting our first responders and city employees, protecting our neighborhoods, open space, and clean air. I will work to deliver excellence in city services to ensure Sandy remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. ​

I was raised in Northwest Ohio and come from a large family, #9 of 10 kids. I graduated from Marquette University with a Journalism Degree and worked several years in Washington D.C. as a congressional aid for a member of congress from Wisconsin. I graduated law school from the University of Toledo and moved to Utah in 1996 for the outdoor and mountain lifestyle and to start my career as a litigator. I even worked as a Sandy City Prosecutor for several years. While I'm still a licensed attorney, I began a non-law business and started several antique retail shops from the ground up. I currently make my living from my antiques business, which I enjoy because it furthers my love of American history and the westward expansion. ​​

I'm an animal lover and avid outdoorswoman. The reason I moved to my Sandy neighborhood, Bell Canyon Acres, is because of its easy proximity to Dimple Dell Park and Little Cottonwood Canyon. I love living in a place where I can keep my own horses in my backyard and take care of them myself every day. In addition to horses and cats, I have recently acquired two puppies and four goldfish. My many nieces and nephews keep me on my toes and visit me year-round in Sandy, where they love experiencing nature and the outdoor lifestyle. Many of you may have met them on your doorstep this summer when they helped me canvas for three weeks.
